Suggest some nice drives in the Louisville area

I have a business trip planned for next week in the Louisville area. Turns out there is a nice guy on Turo that rents his Mustang GT350 for only $130/day. I have it reserved all week. I’m hoping to get my work done by Thursday and go for a nice drive on Friday. I’m open to all suggestions.

You can head east on the Bourbon Trail. If you make it as far as Richmond, KY you’ll find surprisingly good pizza at Apollo’s.

I hadn’t even thought of bringing my GoPros. Maybe I will. There will definitely be pictures though.

I was in Southern Indiana for a while. This is good:

The road is a bit narrow, so it would be a bit tough to fit a GT350 and 550bhp, but it is a fun road to cruise as well.

Bloomington has some nice pubs too (Where the route ends). Nashville, IN is a dainty little town which I like too.

There is another little loop that is there on this route that I like. But I forgot where it starts. I’ll update if I can find it again.

Ill second the ride up to French Lick and out to Bourbon trail.

Ive enjoyed the little stretch between I65 and Bardstown road on 480 if i remember right. Or atleast near there. Doesnt take you as far out of the way. Theres still some nice bits around the outside of 265, but so much was cleared for suburbia and the big park system.

Inside the ring roads you get little mile stretches like on easum rd and watterson trail that look like theyve not changed in decades but i wouldnt go out of my way for them.

If youre cruising 264 theres a undercover Mustang cop thats the only hardass in the city on egregious speeding. Both 265 and 65 to cross the river are toll roads now, take 64 or 2nd Street if you want to avoid that.

On 64 theres a tiny tunnel nearing the city center between cannons ln and grinstead dr. Good for a quick exhaust blip.

Ill try and pass word around to see what else can be thought of.
